852 Press is delighted to announce that we have been appointed to convene the Whitsundays Writers Festival, 6-8 September 2024.
Following a seven-year hiatus, the festival is making a triumphant return to the region and the long-awaited event promises to be a celebration of words, writers, and readers, rekindling the literary flame in the heart of Queensland.
Packed with a diverse range of engaging events, the festival promises to be a hot bed of inspiration, bridging the gap between writers and readers, fostering a sense of camaraderie among literary enthusiasts.
The three-day event will comprise an engaging mixture of genres from crime to memoir, romance to screenwriting, and more, as well as interactive workshops, panel discussions and author talks.
There will also be a Karaoke Poetry and Cocktails on the Friday evening, the Big Book Club High Tea, a lively event on the Saturday night, practical workshops on Sunday morning, and a long table local author lunch on the Sunday afternoon.
A selection of writing competitions for all genres and age groups are available, and awards will be presented Saturday. Most notable is the Gloria Burley Award for the best unpublished manuscript.
