Our story
We are an independent publisher, helping Australians tell their story.
852 Press was established in 2020 by education specialist Dr Julia Evans and author Richard Evans.
We are keen to share our experiences and processes with Australian writers so they can self-publish their own works. Soon, we will be launching a range of resources, services, and events for those with a story to tell.
At this point in time, we are not accepting manuscripts.
Our name acknowledges Richard’s writing methodology for each book – 8 drafts and edits to ensure the manuscript is the best it can be, gather and reflect on at least 5 different Beta Reader perspectives or formal assessments during the writing process, and involve 2 experts, one being an editor and the other a subject matter expert.
Our name also honours Richard Evans’ service as the 852nd member of Australia’s federal parliament – providing much inspiration for his political thrillers.
